On-Site. On-site soil remediation is achieved using TERRACAP 3000/4000 additives. Shallow surface soil or aggregate contamination is
microencapsulated using TERRACAP 3000/4000 additives and a surface tilling device such as a rake. The resultant silica (sand)
matrix effectively locks the hazardous components in to a stable, environmentally friendly, sand-like residue that may be left
in place without the need for expensive oil spill remediation activities.
Off-Site. Remediation on excavated contaminated soil or aggregate is acheived by using an appropriate mixing device with liquid additive
spray application capabilities. High-speed mixing equipment such as a pug mill provides turbulent mixing
to effectively contact the contaminant with the additives. Spraying 1-5 percent by weight of soil with each
TERRACAP 3000/4000 additives typically
satisfies regulatory requirements.
